Community Baby Sprinkles

The Columbiana County Health District will be hosting two Community Baby Sprinkles in partnership with Help Me Grow, Akron Children's Hospital, WIC, and Insight Clinical Counseling. Space for these events is limited and pre-registration is required at 330-424-0272 ext. 114. The first event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon June 12t at the East Palestine Public Library located at 309 N. Market St., East Palestine. The second event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon June 13 at the Wellsville Carnegie Public Library located at115 9th St.,Wellsville. Health District staff will be on site to provide infant carriers, convertible care seats, booster seats, pack and plays, fitted crib sheets, halo sleep sacks and more. Attendees can also enter for the chance to win a diaper bag full of items perfect for a new or expectant mother. Those who wish to attend must be WIC income eligible Columbiana County residents. WIC income eligible individuals include: pregnant and breastfeeding women, women who recently had a baby, and infants birth through 12 months. America Car Show and Parade

Wellsville Celebrate America Car Show and Parade is scheduled for July 2. Car show registration is by donation the day of the show and starts at noon, show starts at 1 p.m. and ends at 4 p.m. at the gazebo on Main Street. Music will be provided by Dave Byers and Bill Crawford. The show will be judged and dash plaques awarded. Parade line up starts at 5 p.m. in front of the fire station (1202 Main St.) and steps off at 6 p.m., going north on Main Street to the gazebo. All area organizations, churches, veterans and patriotic individuals are invited to decorate a vehicle or make a float. Awards will be issued for best antique military vehicle, most patriotic float and more. Children may decorate bicycles and power wheels, and participate in the parade. Trophies, gift cards and more will be awarded for most patriotic bike and power wheel. King and Queen names will be drawn from those in the kids in the parade, crowns and gift cards awarded. Chester Library quilting classes

Due to the many requests for quilting classes, The Lynn Murray Memorial Library will be offering them. Participants will be working on a lap size throw using Eleanor Burns’ A Trip Around the World pattern in the classes which began June 1. There are no fees for the classes, but participants will need to have their own fabric, thread, pins and sewing machine. A cutting mat, rotary cutter and ruler will also be helpful. The library has an iron and ironing board to use. The classes will be held at the library at 1 p.m. Thursdays.
