Digital cutters and printers are taking the crafting world by storm

It's the new way to work on your favourite craft projects – and now Hobbycraft have got in on the digital action with their range of vinyl and cutting mats, perfect for all your digital crafting needs.

Digital cutting machines are one of the biggest craft trends of the year. Hobbycraft says it's seen visits to its digital craft page grow by 10% in January 2023 compared to the previous month, and visits to its vinyl products increased by 74% over the same period.

Of course, one of the biggest digital crafting ranges around is Cricut. This range of machines allows you do to everything from create labels for all jars in your kitchen cupboard to designing and making bespoke T-shirts.

There are so many projects you can make using these digital crafting tools, including making your own clothes, homeware, storage labels and gifts.

Hobbycraft's range will feature 31 products – including the cutting mats, which are used to stabilise the vinyl and keep your digital cutter in the correct position.

The Hobbycraft vinyls require a cutting mat to sit underneath them – Cricut smart vinyls are also available to buy, which don't require a cutting mat.

Digital cutters, printers and presses are machines which allow the user to cut out and personalise almost anything – including cutting shapes in paper and personalising mugs, clothing, labels and acrylic.

Searches for digital cutters and printers spiked in 2022, with the terms Cricut Joy, Cricut Maker and Cricut Vinyl increasing by 63%, 61% and 207%, respectively.

Crafters up and down the country are making lovely projects with their digital cutters and printers. There are so many projects to try with these machines, it's impossible not to be inspired!
